Three appointments to know more about the Medici gardens and villas.

May 29th at 7pm (CEST)The Villa of Poggio a Caiano

The Medici had several Villas all over Tuscany, but one was their favorite: the Villa of Poggio a Caiano.
Poggio a Caiano is only half an hour away driving from Florence. It lays over a small hill. The family used to come here to spend summertime, or to celebrate their most important weddings, from Lorenzo the Magnificent to the very last Medici, Anna Maria Luisa. After the Medici, the Lorraine family and then the King of Italy, Victor Emanuel, continue to come to this Villa.
During the tour will be going virtually inside this wonderful building to see the spectacular apartments, with its frescoes made by the most important painters of the 1500. We will talk about all the stories and gossips about those great families.
June 5th at 5pm (CEST) The Medici park of Pratolino
Right at the gates of Florence, among woods and hills, there’s one of the biggest Medici parks.
It was bought by the Russians princes Demidoff, today it property of the Italian State.
A walk into the Pratolino Park, under the shadow of the giant statue of the “Appenine”, will reveal the ambitiuos project of Francesco I of the Medici: to create a spectacular garden, with fountains and secrets places, in what was supposed to be the most sumptuous of the family.
What is left of that dream? Let’s find it out together!
June 12th at 5pm (CEST) The Medici gardens of Boboli
A stroll through the Boboli gardens!
With our camera we will visit the famous gardens, wanted and created by the Medici. Typically Boboli requires a lot of effort as a lot of walking is involved but you will have the chance to enjoy it from your home!
In 1549 Elonor of Toledo bought the Pitti Palace, her dream was to have a big garden for her big family, unfortunately Eleanor died before she could see this incredible place. It’s thanks to her if today the Florentines can enjoy one of the most beautiful gardens in the world.
In this 60 minutes experience we will talk about the Medici, their very expensive and sophisticated taste and, of course, about the spectacular Boboli!
The tours will be held on Zoom!
You will receive the link the day before the tour.
Price for one tour 15€
