We all know that Florence is home to incredible treasures: famous museums, iconic works of art and worls-known churches. However, sometimes, the many wonders that this city has to offer overshadow smaller attractions or genuine local areas that, instead, are worth a visit!
Today we take you to the district of Sant’Ambrogio, our visit will start from its most remarkable square, Piazza D’Azeglio, created during the massive remodeling that Florence went through in the late ‘800. we will then continue with the main church of the neighborhood to then walk along the market all the way to the Murate complex.
We like special things, in fact we will take you to see the high security cells of the ex prison as well as the Panopticon.
